In October 2024, two of our team members accompanied the Director of International Relations of the Confederation of Businessmen of Andalusia, Mr. Miguel Guardiola Villamarín, to an important event in Krakow. Jesús Bores Lazo as a national expert and Juana Bores Leal del Ojo as a junior consultant, have actively participated in the GREENET project, co-financed by the European Union. This project aims Support the EU's efforts to meet its climate target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030, compared to 1990 levels, as part of the fight against climate change.

The GREENET project focuses on the industrial, energy and transportation sectors, essential for achieving the EU's ambitious climate goals. By promoting green social dialogue between key stakeholders such as trade unions and employers' organizations, the initiative seeks to accelerate a transition to a more sustainable economy in a socially just and responsible manner. One of the most relevant events of this initiative took place in Krakow, Poland, where participants from different countries and sectors gathered in a face-to-face seminar to share knowledge, strategies, and discuss best practices. Implement green transition policies that are fair to EU workers and citizens, as well as businesses.In addition to the in-person seminar, the project included two online seminars and a series of national and comparative studies aimed at providing proposals and solutions to the challenges the European Commission faces in this area.
GREENET is supported by stakeholders from various countries, including Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Portugal, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Estonia, and Lithuania, as well as organizations such as ETIC, IndustriALL, and Business Europe. The project is aligned with EU climate and energy policies, particularly the 13 legislative proposals that seek to support the Climate Law recently adopted and the climate neutrality by 2050. The project also aims to contribute to the Implementation of key initiatives such as REPowerEU and other European Green Deal policies, which seek to accelerate the transition towards a more sustainable and resilient Europe.
Through transnational research in 10 countries, European trainings, consultative meetings and national workshops, The GREENET project has promoted a more inclusive and accessible green transition, benefiting the European Union and the rest of the world..
